Walt Jaschek posed for this Flu Shot PSA for social media, and wrote the copy. He knows it’s a bad pun. “I’ll see myself out,” he says.
From Walt himself: “Bad puns aside, I’m a big believer in the flu shot. I got one 11 years out of 12, and the year I didn’t, I got the flu. You don’t want it. Last year when my Dad was in a hospital ER as a result of a Fall, we surrounded by dozens of miserable flu patients: on gurneys, in chairs, against walls, against doors, anywhere they could fit, IVs dangling, many still in robes or PJs, It looked like a war zone.”
He adds: “The shot is covered by most insurance plan, is inexpensive anyway, only takes a few seconds, pricks for a split second, it protects not just you, but others. OTHERS. So in a way, yes, it’s heroic.”
By the way, that is a DC superhero hoodie Walt is wearing, with a rather moody illustration of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. They’re often considered heroes, too, we’re told.
